Fabric and Leather

FABRIC

Imported furniture generally offers only limited cover options which may compromise the search for individuality. Here at Proud Furniture by choosing Australian Made furniture you have a unique opportunity to customise your selections with a huge variety of fabric options. Proud furniture recommends the use of Warwick Fabrics. Warwicks provide an array of fabrics with various benefits to the consumer.

WARWICK FABRIC RANGES

1. Warwick Halo Fabrics

fabric ranges

Warwick Halo is a new generation of furniture fabrics that are easy to clean, hard wearing and, put simply, built to last. With over 1000 fabric choices at a range of different prices, Warwick Halo fabrics are the perfect high performance choice for fashion and function.

All Warwick Halo fabrics are woven to precise specifications and tested to exacting standards for colourfastness, abrasion and inherent stain resistance. Additionally, Warwick Halo fabrics are resistant to pilling and mould/mildew while impervious to attack by moths, silverfish and insect pests.

Warwick Halo fabrics are compatible with independent retail fabric protection and guarantee programs. These programs enhance the fabric's ability to resist liquid staining by providing a spill repellent surface and/or warranties to cover accidental damage.

2. Warwick Healthguard Fabrics

fabrics and sofas

With over 12 percent of the population suffering from asthma and 40 percent from allergies, Warwick's HealthGuard range of fabrics has been developed to help Australians make better lifestyle choices in their furniture coverings.

With revolutionary HealthGuard, Warwick has introduced a new generation of high performance fabrics specifically developed for long-term protection against the house dust mite, mould and bacteria while maintaining an odour-free surface.

Proven and tested by Monash University's Department of Microbiology and boasting worldwide quality assurance (including prestigious Oeko-Tex international registration); HealthGuard is odour-free and specially developed to reduce dust mites which can trigger respiratory conditions such as asthma, allergies and even eczema symptoms.

The National Asthma Council Australia has implemented the Sensitive Choice program, symbolized by the butterfly logo, to help consumers make informed choices about products that may help reduce asthma and allergy triggers. In March 2007, Warwick HealthGuard fabrics Macrosuede, Macro-soft, Macro-hide, Macquarie, Macarthur, Miranda and Tritan ranges all received acceptance to the Sensitive Choice program.

TRITAN FABRICS

Tritan is a full range of high performance, easy clean fabrics for aged care, hospitality and commercial applications developed in Australia combining international standards of quality with prompt local supply and reduced costs.

All Tritan fabrics are tested for heavy commercial applications, extended performance and appearance characteristics. Eliminating problems caused by liquid penetration and incontinence, Tritan's easy clean fabric surface provides a solution to maintenance and long term aesthetics of furniture.

Tested to satisfy strict industry standards, Tritan fabrics are inherently fire retardant while NRA approved HealthGuard technology inhibits a wide range of micro-organisms including bacteria, moulds, yeasts and algae (Staphylococcus aureus MRSA A129) and prevents infestation of dust mites in new fabrics as well as stopping microbial growth.

ATRIUM FABRICS

Atrium Outdoor fabrics feature excellent ultra violet resistance; anti-microbial, mildew and stain resistance; exceptional durability; easy cleanability with bleach though a less harsh solution is all that's required; and an environmentally-friendly manufacturing process.

These true performance fabrics can exceed the rigorous requirements for hospitality/contract applications, surpass heavy-duty residential standards and while appropriate for both upholstery and drapery applications inside and out, are also perfect for high usage areas in the family home.

FABRIC CARE & MAINTENANCE

We take great pride in the fabric selection we have available to our customers and recognise that proper care is essential for maintaining fabrics in the best possible condition. This begins with making the right selection which is why we recommend that you ask one of our qualified sale staff the performance categories and treatment details of the fabric you have purchased.
Proud Furniture recommends regular maintenance of your lounge to retain the quality of your suite. Any piece of upholstered furniture requires regular maintenance. Your personal maintenance schedule is determined by the regularity of furniture use and other influencing environmental conditions. When arranging your furniture, care should be taken to avoid touching external walls or radiators to prevent problems of moisture build up and/or scorching damage. Take care to prevent sharp objects such as rings, buckles and pets' claws from coming into contact with your furniture, as this may cause snagging or tearing of the fabric. Vacuum regularly (weekly) using low suction. Rotate reversible cushions regularly. Protect from direct sunlight.
It is recommended that you have your Fabric Lounge professionally cleaned annually.

LEATHER CARE & MAINTANENCE

Proud Furniture recommends regular maintenance of your lounge to retain the quality of your suite. All upholstered furniture requires regular care. Your personal maintenance schedule is determined by the regularity of furniture use and other influencing environmental conditions. Wipe down your leather once a week with a damp cloth to remove dust. Vacuum the leather with a soft brush attachment. Once every 3 months give the leather an overall clean. We recommend using the Studio Leather Maintenance Kit. It is specifically formulated to maintain the leather without harming the delicate protective seal. Some cleaners appear to remove grime effortlessly however they are often far too strong, especially when used regularly. They can damage or indeed remove the seal coat with disastrous results after only a few applications.
